Lamb to the slaughter

Mary and Patrick pulled up into the driveway together after a long day at work, Patrick works at the police station and Mary at the bank. They greeted in the driveway, hugged then headed inside Mary grabbed Patrick a whisky and then just as Mary was about to ask about her husbands day he told her to sit down! She thought to “herself this can’t be good, he never talks to me like this.” After they sat down Patrick told her that he had some bad news. He told her that he was divorcing her this was a huge shock to Mary and terrible timing as she was 6 months pregnant. She decided that she might be dreaming and so went to the freezer to grab a leg of lamb to cook for dinner pretending that nothing has happened. Suddenly he yelled again “Stop, don’t cook I’m going out.” She stopped, she felt anger and rage bubbling up inside herself and just Patrick turned his back to her she grabbed the frozen leg of lamb ran across the room and brought it in a high arc down on his head.
